Meek acceptance of what is going to come vs. hope
If you win a million Euros on a lottery, you just have a million Euros more. It’s of course a reason to be pleased, but not much more to it. You win, rejoice yourself, have the money and forget you ever won it. But if you lose a million Euros, or ever worse, are obliged to pay a million without really having such an amount of money, then the emotional charge is considerably more important. But the loss of something that was a constant source of joy and comfort for you, and what you can’t get back, no matter how much money you are ready to spend on it; can be much more felt, especially when the news is broken to you.
Waiting for the verdict was a painful process. Hours of torture, of being unable to do anything else than to think, of being unable to think of anything else. Waiting for a verdict, which never came. Sometimes one prays to get the worst possible news, just in order not to have to wait any longer.
It came to me as a great surprise how gradually I grew more and more pessimistic, accepting the unfavourable verdict in advance, in case such is issued. It came to me as even a greater surprise how comforting that felt. How unreasonable and senseless it is to plunge in a prophecy of defeat while being as never optimistic about victory! But the greatest surprise is for me the fact, that now, when the verdict is inevitably going to come, I feel somehow at peace, the feelings connected with the infernal waiting have faded, and what remains is just a relatively faint feeling of anxiety. Faint, but still important enough to shade all the other sources of anxiety brought by the, undoubtfully uncertain, circumstances.

Mission started
I was throwing away old tickets. It’s something I would normally never do; there was quite an important sentimental reason for me keeping then. But today I’m not doing anything normal. I’m throwing away my past and starting with a clear account (something I was always longing and waiting for).
The Tickets... they were so many. A whole love story written in tickets. And now came the long awaited moment of the last ticket. Is the story going to end?
I took all I have, all my belongings that are dear to me and put them in a rucksack and a suitcase. It's time to leave. I have no idea where life is going to throw me, but I know there's no return. It might be difficult to understand, but it feels immensely recomforting.
Suicide mission started!
