"The purpose of this trip was to complete our insurance mandated training on board Big Smile".

"Kids chosen for induction into the cult are sent to secret military-style “boot camps”.
And clasping an “e-meter” that measures electrical currents in their bodies, like a lie detector, they are asked bizarre questions barked by a Scientology “ethics officer”. The questions, from the “Children’s Security Check, Ages 6-12,” include:"

The Hole:

Where did you sleep?"

"On the floor. Under a desk."

"For two years?"

"Yep."

Interessanter Blickwinkel. Aber nicht überraschend.
So so.

(Thanx to D.K.)
Update: Die Passage ist mittlerweile offenbar entfernt worden. Das ursprüngliche Original hier."

"The anti-terrorism law identified some terms in connection with the application of this law, with the law defining a terrorist act as every act which aims at creating a state of panic among the people, destabilizing public security and damaging the basic infrastructure of the country by using weapons, ammunition, explosive, flammable materials, toxic products, epidemiological or bacteriological factors or any method fulfilling the same purposes."

"Çatalhöyük was successlly in scribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 1, 2012 at the meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in St. Petersburg. The members of the Committee congratulated Turkey on its nomination of this rare prehistoric site.
Thanks to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and to the Turkish Mission to UNESCO for their successful and hard-working nomination of Çatalhöyük.
Thanks also to all team members who over many years have helped bring the site to its current state, and to all our sponsors for making our work possible."

Unesco - "Neolithic Site of Çatalhöyük (Turkey): Two hills form the 34-acre site on the Southern Anatolian Plateau. The taller eastern mound contains 18 levels of Neolithic occupation between 7,400 and 6,200 B.C., including wall paintings, reliefs, sculptures and other symbolic, and artistic features. Together they testify to the evolution of social organization and cultural practices as humans adapted to a sedentary life. The western mound shows the evolution of cultural practices in the Chalcolithic period from 6,200 to 5,200 B.C. Çatalhöyük provides important evidence of the transition from settled villages to urban agglomeration which was maintained in the same location for over 2,000 years. It features a unique street-less settlement of houses clustered back to back with roof access into the buildings."
